Fire Observations 2023/03/11
: RaXPol participated in a multi-institution (US Forest Service, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Oklahoma, University of Colorado, San Jose State University) smoke research field campaign. A suite of sensors such as ceilometer, Environmental Beta-Attenuation Mass Monitor floi(E-BAM), Doppler lidar, RaXPol etc were deployed in Eglin air force base on March 16, 2023 during a control burn to measure emission, ground air pollutant concentrations, and smoke plume for evaluating and improving fire emission calculation, plume dynamics, and air quality modeling.![](images/cif-outreach-fire-observations-20230311-1.jpg)
