SUNY Albany 2022/02/23

: Dr. Howie Bluestein gave a seminar, titled "RaXPol: Mobile Rapid-scanning Radar for Research and Education, NSF: Community of Instruments and Facilities (CIF)" at the SUNY Albany.

Ohio University 2022/03/14

: Dr. David Bodine provided a seminar titled "High-resolution Radar Observations and Simulations of Tornadoes" in the Ohio University (approximately 30 participants of faculty and both graduate and undergraduate students).

Ohio University 2022/03/15

: Demo of RaXPol was provided to students in both meteorology and other departments.

Alexander Elementary 2022/03/15

: With the coordination of Dr. Jana Houser, we demoed the RaXPol to 3rd grader (95 kids) and kindergartener (90 kids).

SIUE 2022/03/17

: Drs. Yu and Bodine gave a seminar to the students in the Electrical and Computer Engineering and Geography in SIUE. The title is "From Radar 101 to the Advanced Radar Research Center". There were about 40 students and faculty attended. Later, a radar demo was provided to students.

OU Mini College 2022/07/26

: RaXPol was deployed to provide a demonstration for the University of Oklahoma's Mini College. Presentations were given about weather radar and K-12 students engaged in a question and answer session. The OU Mini College helps K-12 students learn about different fields of study that they could pursue in higher education.

OU Homecoming Parade 2022/10/16

: RaXPol took part in the 2002 OU Homecoming Parade. The event attracted 1000s of visitors.

National Weather Festival 2022/10/29

: RaXPol participated the 2022 National Weather Festival held in Norman, Oklahoma.

University of Florida, Gainsville 2022/09/12 - 29

: RaXPol visited the University of Florida at Gainesville from September 12 to 23 to perform a number of activities including providing short courses, seminar, radar demos, radar deployment for sea breeze, and outreach activities. RaXPol later extended the stay to observe hurricane Ian on Sep. 28-29

• Short Courses

  : Customized short courses were developed and delivered to students and faculty from UF as well as participants from other universities such as OU through in-person and zoom meeting. Some of the short courses were also recorded and are now available on YouTube through Link 1 and Link 2
  

• Radar Demos

  : Two radar demos were given to students from multiple classes and live streamed to other students joined remotely.
  

• Seminar

  : Dr. Yu gave a seminar, titled "Radar Development and Applications at the Advanced Radar Research Center", to students and faculty at Department of Geography of UF.
  

• Florida Museum of Natural History

  : RaXPol was brought to the Florida Museum of Natural History and live demo was provided to the visitors.
  

• Oak Hall Private School

  : With the coordination through Dr. Berry Wen at UF, RaXPol was introduced and demoed to more than 50 students on September 19, 2022
  

• Buchholz High School

  : RaXPol visited Buchholz High School on September 21, 2022 and a tour of RaXPol was provided to about 20 students.
  

• Kimberly Wiles Elementary School

  : RaXPol and its applications were introduced to more than 80 students on September 23, 2022.
  

Le Monde International School 2022/10/17

: Dr. Cheong demoed the RaXPol radar to 3rd graders.

Short Course and Radar Demo for IPC14 2023/06/05

: RaXPol supported a short course and radar demonstration for the International Precipitation Conference (IPC) on June 5, 2023. There were 39 graduate students, 38 early career scientists, 15 mid-career researchers, and 7 senior researchers participated in the short course.

Le Monde International School 2023/09/15

: Dr. Cheong demoed the RaXPol radar to 3rd graders.
